OG Under Fire What Went Wrong with the Legendary Team

OG, once a formidable, titled team capable of rewriting the history of esports, is going through hard times. Recent results, including a failure in the DreamLeague S24 qualifiers and a loss to Palianytsia, have become the reason for a heated discussion in the community. One of the most prominent voices of criticism, the famous Dota 2 commentator and analyst Alexey “Storm” Tumanov, spoke bluntly about the team’s problems on his stream. Storm’s criticism, backed up by specific examples, has hurt OG fans and once again pointed out the obvious weaknesses of the legendary team. But what’s going on with OG? Why can’t the team led by Sebastian “Ceb” Debs find its game? Let’s take a closer look at the situation.

OG’s Problems: An Outside View

Storm, while criticizing OG, did not ignore the team’s key problems, from discipline to the lack of strategic understanding of the game. In particular, the analyst emphasized that even Debs, a two-time winner of The International, does not look like a leader who is capable of taking the game into his own hands.

“If OG looked confident on the first map of the match against NAVI Junior, then in the second their actions were simply catastrophic. It seemed like they had no plan. The players went on the attack on the enemy base without having the gold to buy back after death. This is a strategic mistake at the level of an amateur team, not a titled club,” Storm said.

The commentator’s criticism is quite justified. The lack of a clear plan of action, both in the middle and late stages of the game, becomes fatal for OG. Decisions such as attacking the base without the right to buy back only confirm the thesis that the team lacks discipline and coherence.

OG have had a series of setbacks in recent months. In addition to failing to qualify for DreamLeague S24, the team failed to qualify for the first LAN tournaments of the season – PGL Wallachia and BetBoom DACHA. These setbacks raise a natural question: what is going on inside the team?

OG on the Brink of Failure Storm Criticism and the Reasons for the Fall of the Legendary Team

  1. Frequent roster changes
This is not the first time OG has faced the problem of frequent player changes. After the departure of key figures such as Topson and ana, the team has been unable to find a stable roster for a long time. This leads to a lack of teamwork, which is especially critical in the highly competitive Dota 2 environment.
  2. Imbalance of experience and young players
The mixing of experienced veterans such as Ceb with less experienced players creates a situation where team roles remain unclear. Young players often find themselves in the shadow of their titled partners, which affects their psychological state and confidence.
  3. Tactical miscalculations
OG’s problems at the draft and execution stage were also noted by Storm. The team often loses games at the hero selection stage, which indicates poor preparation and insufficient analytical work.
